Sounds fun and you could do something like it next year but the sooner you start the better.
Carrie Kirby writes on Wisebread.com about her strategy for paying for Christmas gifts using various reward point programs.
You can read her entire post at:

She readily admits:
“All these little rebates and such don’t seem much when they trickle in. That’s why I like the idea of saving them all for one purpose — they certainly seem worth the effort when I put them together and am able to make my husband happy without spending any of our hard-earned paychecks.”
This is another great example of why you should get an early start on any savings program. The sooner you get started on stuff like this the more you can accumulate before the holidays.
Sock away this money until you need it and preferably don’t get paid until you are ready to use it.
I’ve just been told that Christmas has been approved for next year…it’s expected on December 25, 2010.
